Kenya Airports Authority extends Nairobi EOI deadline

By Charlotte Turner |

Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has extended the deadline for the Expression of Interest (EOI) process, regarding the development of an airport shopping mall at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, to the 9 September 2014.

“Kenya Airports Authority wishes to inform all interested firms/bidders that the Expression of Interest (EOI’s)/Tender listed for Commercial Development at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport have been extended,” states the KAA on its website.

“All interested firms/bidders are advised that the venue and time remains the same and tenders shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid submission.”

Other bids that have had their deadlines extended include: the (EOI) for Developments within an Airport Business Zone (Future Special Economic Zone); (EOI) for Development of an Airport Hotel as well as an Invitation to Tender for the Development and Operation of a Commercial Important Person (CIP/VIP) Terminal Facility at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

It is evident, from KAA’s recent duty free tender, that deadlines are often changeable. As previously reported, in July the KAA announced it would be retendering its duty free contract at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport T4 after cancelling the last attempt.

KAA was forced to cancel the last tender after Kenya’s Public Procurement Oversight Committee (PPOA) ruled that the KAA’s Tender Committee award to Nuance did not meet the rules related to tender evaluations.
