Casey takes senior revenue role at American Airlines

By Kevin Rozario |

American Airlines has promoted Don Casey to Senior Vice President – Revenue Management, responsible for all of the airline’s passenger pricing and yield management activity for its worldwide network of approximately 6,700 daily flights and more than $40bn in annual revenue.

AA (together with merged US Airways) is the biggest airline in the US year-to-date and part of the Oneworld alliance.

Commenting on the promotion, Scott Kirby, President of American Airlines, says: “Don has done a phenomenal job leading our revenue management team during the early months of integrating our airlines and his team is already providing real results and beginning to deliver on the revenue benefits we anticipated with the merger. His experience at American over the past 14 years will help us make the world’s largest airline the most profitable.”

Casey will continue to oversee the pricing of fare and merchandising products, inventory management, upgrades, frequent flyer redemption, revenue management activities for joint business agreements, and the development of revenue management tools and systems.

Casey previously served as Vice President – Revenue Management. He joined American in 2000 as Managing Director of Capacity Planning and led the company’s alliances team during the first major expansion of Oneworld. Prior to joining American, he was Senior Vice President of Planning at Canadian Airlines.
