WHSmith opens debut Zoodle Melbourne kids’ store

By Doug Newhouse |

WHSmith has opened its first ever dedicated children’s store branded under the newly created name and concept of Zoodle by WHSmith.

Dedicated to children and located in Melbourne Airport’s international departures area, the store is aimed at children and is described as “the perfect one-stop-shop for families”. WHSmith says it is also “the first store of its kind to open at an airport globally”.

The company said that the new concept store demonstrates the “commitment” of both WHSmith and Melbourne Airport to ensure all passengers – whatever their age – have a relaxing and enjoyable start to their journey.

WHSmith Travel COO Simon Smith said: “We are delighted to have opened our first Zoodle by WHSmith store in Melbourne Airport just before Christmas and are very much looking forward to providing children and their families with everything they need before they fly.”

Melbourne Airport’s General Manager Retail, Gilly Gray, said: “We are thrilled to be the very first location for WHSmith’s new Zoodle store. The summer holiday period is the busiest time of the year at Melbourne Airport and Zoodle is the perfect place to stock up on entertainment for children for that long flight.”

Zoodle by WHSmith opened at Melbourne Airport on 15 December, offering a wide selection of children’s books, stationery collections, toys and games, gifts and gadgets and a range of treats and snacks for children (and older children) to enjoy on their flights.
