DFZ is awarded perfume and cosmetics concessions at klia2

By Charlotte Turner |

Malaysia Airports has awarded DFZ a contract to operate two perfume and cosmetics stores for klia2 – which is expected to open within 4-6 weeks – at the Satellite International Departure, Level 2.

This is in addition to an earlier concession awarded to DFZ, classed as an integrated complex situated in between passenger drop off and the main terminal.

The 131sq m and 103sq m airside stores are slated to open in July 2014 together with the 148sq m landside store. DFZ says it will offer ‘major brand names’ and a wide variety of products to cater to the ‘diverse customer groups’.

“With these awards, DFZ has greater airport presence together with the existing outlets at the international airports in Malaysia,” says DFZ.

The existing outlets comprise the liquor and tobacco concession at the KLIA main terminal building in international arrivals (which features a luxury boutique with space dedicated to four of world’s leading spirits brands) and the confectionery/perfumes and cosmetics stores at Penang International Airport.

One of the latest additions to DFZ’s portfolio is a standalone Samsonite boutique store in KLIA operated by the Zon Duty Free. The DFZ Group, which owns the Zon Duty Free, says it is the largest ‘home grown duty free retailing group in Malaysia’ with over 40 stores located throughout at major airports, border towns, down towns and duty free islands.
