Jatco opens new airport boutiques

Japan Airport Terminal Co Ltd (Jatco) has opened several new shops and boutiques at various locations in recent months.

A spokesman for the company told TRBusiness that it opened a Victoria’s Secret boutique on September 18 in Tokyo International Airport Terminal’s (TIAT) South Wing, representing the very first Victoria’s Secret boutique to open in a Japanese airport. The brand replaced the Diesel boutique that previously occupied the same outlet.

In addition, the spokesman said: “We opened a new brand boutique in Kansai Airport on September 4, which is Chloe. Before, the area was an empty space.” Jatco also has a Chloe outlet in the Narita Airport T1 North Wing and in Haneda Airport’s TIAT terminals.

NEW SHOPS AND UPGRADES

“Chloe is popular with Japanese people, but our main target in the airport is Chinese travellers, so we hope that Chinese passengers will buy Chloe as well.” The new Chloe boutique has raised the number of boutiques that Jatco operates in Kansai Airport to 14.

In addition, Jatco opened a new landside tax free confectionery shop at Narita Airport’s newly renovated and upgraded Terminal 1 fourth floor shopping mall back in May. Omotase Dokoro sells both traditional and modern Japanese confectionery, with some of the brands exclusive to Jatco at Narita and new to the airport.

Elsewhere at Narita Airport, Jatco has upgraded its Terminal 2 mixed category satellite shop after earlier renovating its Narita T1 mixed category satellite shop in December 2012.
