Giorgio Armani opens four boutiques at CDFG’s Haitang Bay international shopping complex

The Armani Group has opened new boutiques from Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans and Armani Junior at the new Haitang Bay international shopping complex operated by China Duty Free Group, which the retailer claims ‘is the largest duty-free shopping mall in the world’.

The four new stores open shortly after Armani opened a store in European travel retail – at Malpensa Airport – and one in the US at Chicago O’Hare Airport’s Terminal 5.

The Giorgio Armani boutique – the largest of the four new boutiques – covers 390sq m and carries women’s and men’s apparel as well as accessories, fragrances and eyewear.

“Materials used throughout include natural stone for the floors and marmorino plaster for the walls, custom finished to match the ceilings,” says the Group. “The tables are in teak with black glass tops and there are bamboo details in mirror effect steel that has been finished with a satin texture to suggest the ribbing of natural bamboo.”

‘INSPIRED BY NATURE’

The Emporio Armani store covers an area of 335sq m, and carries the complete men’s and women’s collections including jewellery, watches and eyewear.

The Armani Jeans store covers a surface of 140sq m carries the ready-to-wear collections for men and women, as well as leather accessories and shoes.

And finally, the Armani Junior store has a surface area of 40sq m, with a concept inspired by nature and characterised by the use of neutral colours.

It was in May that the Armani Group, opened the first Giorgio Armani branded store in a European travel retail location – in its home market of Italy.

MILAN MALPENSA STORE

The boutique at Milan Malpensa Airport is located in the extra-Schengen area in Terminal 1.

Armani also opened an 80sq m boutique in Terminal 5 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, in June. The company said: “The store was developed according to a concept that favours curved lines, which create an organic design that features the alternation of exquisite fabric-colored surfaces, stone in shades of greige and black glass.”

The Armani Group distribution network includes 2,473 stores, comprised of 164 Giorgio Armani stores, 271 Emporio Armani stores, 469 Armani Collezioni stores, 270 A/X Armani Exchange stores, 722 AJ Armani Jeans stores, 167 Armani Junior stores and 59 Armani/Casa stores in more than 60 countries across the globe.
