Victoria’s Secret has opened a new 90sq m store at Australia’s Gold Coast Airport, in partnership with LS travel retail Pacific.

The leading lingerie and beauty retailer opened its new outlet today with its focus said be on ‘an iconic, fashion-forward range of beauty products and accessories designed for the modern traveller’.

The company’s familiar fragrances such as its FiFi Award-winning Victoria’s Secret Bombshell and recently launched new Eau So Sexy collections are also featured, along with VS Fantasies for beauty shoppers.

LSTR says that female travellers there will be ‘travel-ready items’ such as signature lip glosses and body-care products available, in addition to ‘functional-yet-chic accessories’ aimed at bringing a touch of glamour ‘to business trips and weekend getaways alike’.

Other items available will include branded cosmetic cases, multi-use fashion bags, plus an assortment of perfect panties.

The new store will open with the Holiday Season Collection for Panties and Accessories, as well as ‘new key items’, such as the floral cosmetic pouch, pebble leather chain tote, and mini-dome cross body Nylon chain tote.

LIVELY IN-STORE IMAGERY

The store interior features black-cherry fixtures and ‘eye-catching’ focal walls and LSTR says it will channel brand identity and showcase a range of products in a gallery of iconic black and white images. There will also be a video wall broadcasting footage of the Victoria’s Secret Angels.

Gold Coast Airport’s General Manager Commercial, Marion Charlton said: “Victoria’s Secret is a vibrant brand that is not available elsewhere on the Gold Coast. The timing of the opening could not be better with the busy holiday season almost upon us”.

LS travel retail Pacific CEO Matthieu Mercier also expressed his enthusiasm. “Following on from the success of our VSBA stores in Adelaide and Cairns, we are excited to be opening our third Australian VSBA this year, in perfect time for the holiday season, at the Gold Coast Airport.

“Our long standing partnership with Gold Coast Airport is one that we value greatly, and we are delighted to extend this relationship even further with this VSBA opening”.

GROWING TRAFFIC NUMBERS

Gold Coast Airport handled 427,587 arriving and departing domestic passengers in September 2014 and an additional 69,006 arriving and departing international passengers.

According to Queensland Airport’s annual report for 2013, Gold Coast Airport is the fifth busiest international airport in Australia and it is the sixth-busiest overall.

Last year a total of 5.7m domestic and international passengers used the airport, representing a 9% rise on the previous year.

According to the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Economics (at the end of the last financial year) the Gold Coast–Sydney route is the fourth busiest in the country, whilst Gold Coast–Melbourne is the ninth busiest.
