DFS Group has put Jim Beam Single Barrel on sale at Auckland Airport in New Zealand – the first time it has been made available outside of the United States.

 

The ultra-premium bourbon is an exclusive to shoppers at the Auckland DFS departures store for two months only, as from 2 December.

 

Known to the company as ‘the pride of the rackhouse’, Jim Beam Single Barrel is carefully selected by hand with fewer than 1% of barrels chosen. Each barrel is then individually bottled, labelled and numbered.

 

Full bodied and smooth with attributes of oak, vanilla and caramel, the liquid is 95-proof with an ABV of 47.5%. Jim Beam Single Barrel will sit on shelf alongside Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 Year and Jim Beam 1795.

 

At DFS’s in-store Jim Beam American Stillhouse installation (pictured above) – featuring genuine Jim Beam barrels, interactive displays and information on the global ‘Make History’ campaign – travellers will have the opportunity to sample Jim Beam Single Barrel throughout the exclusivity period. They can also enter a competition to win a trip to the home of Jim Beam in Kentucky.

Available in 1L bottles, Jim Beam Single Barrel retails at NZ $64.99 ($50.38). Distribution will expand from Auckland to DFS Changi Airport and DFS Hong Kong International Airport early next year.
