130 vie for DDF Golf title

No less than 130 industry executives are set to participate in this coming weekend's fourteenth Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup which is taking place on the November 25 and 26 at The Montgomerie, Dubai

and the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club respectively.
Open to representatives of the duty free industry only, this year?s tournament has attracted over 85 international players from over 20 countries, with the remaining players coming from the UAE.
Commenting on the overwhelming popularity of the golf tournament, Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free said: ?When we started this tournament back in 1993, it was intended as a way of bringing the duty free industry people to Dubai for a couple of days of friendly competition. The tournament has grown to such an extent that for the past few years, we have had to introduce morning and afternoon tee-offs to ensure that we can accommodate all players.?
The international players have flown in from all around the world, including Great Britain, Germany, France, Ireland, USA, Australia, Switzerland, Denmark, and Holland. On the social front, the golfers and guests will be entertained by Northern Irish funny man, Frank Carson who will be followed by traditional Irish singer, Finbar Furey, at a private concert taking place at The Irish Village on the evening of November 25.
The tournament, which is organized by Dubai Duty Free, will take place in the middle of an extremely busy industry week in Dubai. The Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA) holds its conference at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel today and tomorrow and the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup is then followed by the fourth Middle East Exclusive (MEE) exhibition taking place on November 27 to 29 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
