Leeds Bradford delivers hospice joy
By Doug Newhouse |
Multiflight and Leeds Bradford Airport teamed up again to bring joy to the children at Martin House Children’s Hospice in the UK last week.
Yorkshire County Cricket Club helped sponsor the visit this year, with bowlers Ryan Sidebottom and Jack Brooks flying in Santa Claus by helicopter to deliver presents to the children.
Multiflight flew Santa to the hospice on a Dauphin helicopter from its fleet of charter helicopters from its base at Leeds Bradford Airport, while generous staff and passengers at Leeds Bradford Airport donated Christmas gifts for the children.
There was also a donation of £1,000 ($1,635) from Leeds Bradford Airport’s annual coin collection to the Martin House Hospice, as one of the airport’s chosen charities.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE…
Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s Aviation Development & Marketing Director, said: “It’s magnificent to see the children’s faces light up when Santa arrives with his sack of presents. We want to make sure that the children and families at Martin House Hospice have a really memorable day. Martin House is a fantastic, deserving charity which we have proudly supported for a number of years.”
“It’s wonderful to be able to give the children, their families and the staff at the hospice a special Christmas treat and Multiflight is delighted to be able to do this,” says Linda Nicholls, Multiflight’s Charter Manager.
The hospice needs to raise £4.5m ($7.3m) annually to run the service it provides at its purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby, and care for children and young people from throughout the Yorkshire region.
