Luxury hand-crafted Bellperre phones at Capi, Schipol Airport

By Caroline Sargent |

Capi, The Travellers Electronics Company has secured a partnership with Bellperre, a designer and manufacturer of luxury hand-crafted phones, to retail a limited number of handsets at Capi stores in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.

Under the branding ‘Phone Unique’, Bellperre recently launched the world’s first made-to-order luxury phones. Screens are made from sapphire crystal, while the body is available in authentic black steel, brushed steel, polished silver, 18K rosé gold or 24K yellow gold. Each handset is decorated with exotic leather, available in more than a hundred possible leather options.

Presented in a case of genuine almond wood, Bellperre mobile phones feature numeric keypads, a 5MP camera, GPS and Bluetooth. The entire process, from first design and engineering to assembly and finishing, is performed by Bellperre in Amsterdam, lending the products additional cachet.

“These beautifully designed and perfectly finished phones will especially delight our customers from Russia, the Middle East and Asia, as this luxury product is a real gem.” says Peter Wiggers, managing director, Royal Capi-Lux.

Ted Stegman, founder and CEO of Bellperre comments: “I am honoured by this collaboration and believe that Capi is the right platform for us to present these products. I have full confidence that this partnership will be a great success.”

A select collection of Bellperre’s hand-crafted mobile phones can now be found within Capi’s ‘It’s Exclusive!’ showcase at Schiphol.
