LSTR’s new Valencia fashion shop

By Doug Newhouse |

LSTR will open a new fashion shop at Valencia Airport next month, according to Pedro Castaños Ruiz, CEO of Aelia Retail España.

Speaking to TRBusiness on the sidelines of yesterday’s launch of The Fashion Gallery concept umbrella store at Madrid-Barajas Airport, Castaños Ruiz said that the Valencia Airport fashion offer will not be as high end as the Fashion Gallery brand positioning at Madrid-Barajas Terminal 1, but it will nevertheless be interesting.

He added that the company has also identified more retail opportunities at Barcelona Airport and in locations in the Canary Islands, while it is also looking at some more tenders.

In the year to date to the end of June 2014, Valencia Airport handled a total of 2,091,143 passengers, a decline of -2.3%. In 2013, the airport was Aena’s tenth biggest, processing 4,599,900 passengers, a fall of 3.2% against 2012.
