Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) is following in the footsteps of Dubai Duty Free with its first foray into sports sponsorship.

DDFS – the single largest duty free retail operator in India, operating at Indira Gandhi International Airport’s terminal three – has become an official partner of the Delhi Daredevils cricket team (pictured at the airport shops) which plays in the Indian Premier League.

The DDFS logo will be on the Delhi Daredevils jersey and there will be a series of marketing activations during the 2014 season. As the official team partner, DDFS says it will also have “significant in-stadium presence during Delhi Daredevils matches”.

A Delhi Daredevils promotional campaign will start at DDFS shops from tomorrow and will run until 1 June. Customer’s can win a chance to meet the Daredevils, as well as team merchandise, match tickets, a chance to participate in the match day coin toss and a BMW X1 at the end of the campaign.

He adds: “We at Delhi Duty Free have always endeavoured to provide the best of offers and promotions to our customers. This is a new initiative for us and we expect our association with the Delhi Daredevils to create a lot of interest and excitement among our customers.”
