Trapani resigns as head of watches

Francesco Trapani has resigned as head of the LVMH Watches and Jewelry division from March 1, 2014 but will remain a Board Director.

He will become an advisor on jewellery operations to Group Chairman Bernard Arnault while LVMH’s jewellery houses of Bulgari, Chaumet, Fred and De Beers will now report to Antonio Belloni, LVMH’s Group Managing Director.

Jean-Claude Biver – who is presently President of Hublot – will also take on responsibility for LVMH’s remaining watch brands, including TAG Heuer and Zenith.

Commenting on the development, Bernard Arnault said: “Over many years Francesco Trapani has progressively built Bulgari into a brand respected around the world for its refinement and appeal.

I am convinced that his entrepreneurial talent and creativity will add significant momentum to our other brands in the sector”.
