Luxottica focus on Prada projects

By Doug Newhouse |

Luxottica has launched its new Prada Spring/Summer 2014 collections, including its special projects, Prada Voice for women and Prada Society for men.

In the Prada Voice Women’s Collection, the company’s new SPR 21Q model features ‘a colourful array of hand-applied, asymmetrically cut crystals’. Luxottica says the colours reflect this model’s ‘distinctive personality’. It is available in nuances of Vermilion, Mint, Water Blue and Sunflower, as well as classic shades of Black, with its Prada lettering logo.

By contrast, SPR 55Q is said to be the second creation of the Prada Society special collection for men and a new take on the classic rectangular metal model. Describing the product, Luxottica said: “Clean, simple lines are combined with the unique upside down metal double bridge, which adds a creative touch. These glasses come in Black metal or in sophisticated matte metal versions in nuances of Pale Gold and Lead.”

The SPR 55Q is part of the second creation of the Prada Society special collection for men.

The new launches also include PR 22Q which features ‘lively nuances and dazzling stones’ with  hand-applied crystals on the temples and front and a cut irregular teardrop shape. The colour palette combines bright hues of Vermilion, Mint, and Water Blue with understated tones of Black and Ivory.

Amongst the other offerings, SPR 17Q is said to be a model of the Prada Society special collection, which hit the catwalk at the Prada Men’s SS 14 fashion show. This is described as striking ‘the perfect balance between creativity and style, with its classic shape and fine metal detailing.
