DFS promotes MCM and Hermés in August

By Kevin Rozario |

From this month until September, a pop-up store for German luxury brand, MCM, is making an appearance at the DFS downtown T Galleria in Singapore while at the Hong Kong T Galleria on Canton Road, the Hermès Le Bain collection is making waves from 10 August to 4 September.

The MCM unit, on Level 4, will offer luxury leather goods from the brand’s spring/summer 2014 and autumn/winter 2014 collections.

DFS – majority owned by luxury conglomerate Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), alongside DFS co-founder and shareholder Robert Miller – claims a good match between itself and MCM.

“The brand is largely inspired by luxury, craftsmanship and global lifestyles – all of which are in line with the DFS brand,” says Francois Rosset (left), Managing Director of DFS for Singapore. “With a more youthful and bold aesthetic, MCM will also add diversity to the current mix of luxury brands at T Galleria.”

The pop-up offers the largest selection of leather goods among all MCM counters in Singapore. Products include backpacks from the STARK range in its heritage colours of cognac and black, as well as seasonal colours of white and teal blue.

Key styles from the coming season include the MCM Strasse Visetos backpack (S$1,390/$1,110-pictured right) and the MCM Balam Visetos backpack (S$1,175/$938). There are also reversible nylon and canvas versions of the signature STARK backpack, tote bags, satchels as well as other small leather goods from the autumn/winter 2014 collection.

HERMÈS TELLS A STORY

Meanwhile, Hermès’ bath and body line Le Bain (Bath Time), is a focus on the Beauty and Fragrances floor at T Galleria on Canton Road. The bath and body collection is based on Hermès novella perfumes with each product designed to tell a story.

In this respect, Hermès likens itself to a publishing house “over time launching works that visit different literary genres, and developing collections – novels, novellas, and poems that explore different registers, styles, and tones”.

In the library of Hermès perfumes, each has a story. In the Garden and Colognes Collection, which includes Un Jardin sur le Toit, Un Jardin sur le Nil, Un Jardin en Méditerrannée, Eau de narcisse bleu, Eau d’orange verte and Eau de pamplemousse rose, these are presented in new textures.

They include creamy bubble bath, revitalising shampoo, hydrating balm, toning gel, soothing body milk and gentle soap

Two exclusive products to DFS will be available:  The Garden Perfume Collection Set (above left), previously available inflight only which includes two 15ml bottles of Un Jardin sue le Nil and Un Jardin sur le Toit; and the Hermès Miniature set (below), exclusively available at DFS in Hong Kong, which is a set of four olfactory stories brought together by Hermès: Jour d’Hermès, Eau des Merveilles, Un Jardin sur le Nil and Voyage d’Hermès.
