Trinity 2014 attracts 300 delegates

By Doug Newhouse |

The Trinity Forum 2014 organisers report that 300 delegates are due to attend next week’s Taipei event, including 88 representatives from 43 airports.

Scheduled to take place at the Grand Hyatt Taipei Hotel from 17–19 September, the organisers also say that 15 of the world’s top 20 travel retail companies are also represented, including Aer Rianta International; China Duty Free Group; DFS Group; Dubai Duty Free; Dufry; Duty Free Americas; Ever Rich Duty Free; Gebr. Heinemann; JR/Duty Free; King Power Group (Hong Kong); King Power International; Lotte Duty Free; LS travel retail; The Shilla Duty Free; and World Duty Free Group.

Other attendees include ‘a strong supplier showing’, plus investment banking, specialist service providers, media and others. For the very first time, the event is also a three-way alliance between Airports Council International (ACI), ACI Asia-Pacific and The Moodie Report, while it is being hosted by Taoyuan International Airport Corporation.

The Moodie Report Chairman Martin Moodie said: “We’re delighted by the outstanding turn-out for this year’s Trinity Forum, though as always with this event our focus is on quality not quantity. We can guarantee delegates a highly challenging conference programme, wonderful networking opportunities and Taiwanese hospitality of the highest order.”

‘EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION’

The conference theme this year is ‘Towards Cutting-Edge Retail’ and co-organisers The Moodie Report and ACI say it will ‘champion excellence and innovation’ across a range of areas from supply chain to social media, design to data capture, as well as exploring the upside potential of industry stakeholder collaboration.

As reported already, the afternoon on day two will feature a session on Concession Management, which the organisers say has already attracted a large audience. This is being headed up by Dr. Rafael Echevarne, ACI World’s Director, Economics and Program Development and as reported already, the seminar also features guest speaker Stephen Freibrun.

He is a Principal in ICF International’s Aviation Services Practice who leads the Commercial Planning Group’s efforts in the Americas and in Asia in a role that extends to creating commercial plans, strategic approaches to enhancing non-airline revenues, financial models and feasibility analyses, research analyses, Requests for Proposals and other projects.
