Trinity Forum attracts 340-plus

By Doug Newhouse |

A total of around 340 guests attended last night’s Trinity Forum 2014 cocktail party in Taipei’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Networking was top of most agendas, with the general mood very positive at the opening cocktail hosted by Taoyuan International Airport and sponsored by Tasa Meng Duty Free – one of the two major local duty free operators at Taipei’s gateway airport.

There were the customary courtesy welcomes from the three organisers of ACI World, ACI Asia-Pacific and The Moodie Report, as guests enjoyed each others company aided by drinks sponsored by Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail. While many made new contacts, others renewed fresh acquaintances made from the earlier optional day-long guided tour of Taipei, which was sold out.

Moodie International Chairman Martin Moodie noted the strong attendance this year and particularly the major progress made in terms of the number of attending airports (plus 43) within the overall 340-strong total. TRBusiness has encouraged the organisers to work on this and the number of different airports present at this year’s conference is certainly a huge improvement on the past.

Moodie also paid tribute to the efforts of his partner organisations at ACI, headed up by Angela Gittens, Director General at ACI World and Patti Chau, Regional Director at ACI Asia-Pacific.

YOU ONLY GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN…

Angela Gittens then took to the stage and echoed the earlier thanks made to all the sponsors of the event. She also wished everyone present a very productive couple of days within the conference itself  and passed on wise words in a brief reference to the conference saying, “We will only get out of this what we put in.”

Patti Chau then addressed guests by saying that ACI Asia-Pacific is ‘very excited’ to be partnering with The Moodie Report and especially with such a good attendance of delegates. She also thanked all the sponsors for their support to the event.

Chau then passed the microphone over to Hourng-Jiun (David) Fei, President & CEO Taoyuan International Airport Corporation who welcomed all of the guests to Taiwan and said the airport considered it an honour to be have been entrusted with the Trinity Forum back in June of this year and this means a lot to the airport company management.

ENHANCING REPUTATIONS

Hourng-Jiun (David) Fei also thanked ACI for its recognition of Taoyuan International Airport in the past and added that the airport is also proud of its quality operators, including the Tasa Meng Corporation and Ever Rich D.F.S Corporation.

He said the presence of the Trinity event is a great way to further the reputation of Taiwan’s airports and while thanking the sponsors, he added that Taoyuan International Airport Corporation will continue to support the Trinity event in future. Nancy Ku, the Chairman of Tasa Meng Corporation also added her welcome to the gathering.
