Super-premium wines of Southern France showcased by Gerard Bertrand

By Caroline Sargent |

French family winemakers Gérard Bertrand will be realizing their strategy to increase worldwide knowledge and take-up of super-premium wines from the South of France at this year’s TFWA Conference and Exhibition in Cannes, showcasing their Collection Legend Vintage and having their Chardonnay selected as the event’s official white wine.

Based in the Boutenac terroir, one of the few Cru of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, Gérard Bertrand has more than 20 years’ experience distributing super-premium, organic and biodynamic wines around the world. Their extensive offer ranges from sparkling wines to reds, whites, rosés, varietals and appellations wine.

Available to taste at the show will be two of Bertrand’s most successful wines: the Gris Blanc Rosé, an ideal match for seafood and Asian cuisine, and Code Rouge, a tribute to the world’s first sparkling wines that were made by the monks of Saint Hilaire Abbey, near Limoux. A unique and exclusive expression of the terroirs, the rare, precious bottles found within the Collection Legend Vintage include wines dating as far back as 1875 – 1974 and have already seduced customers of major travel retail partners such as Aelia, Le Clos Dubai International Airport, Oceania Cruises and Nuance at Toulouse airport, among others.

The brand has also expressed its pride at having its Domaine de l’Aigle Chardonnay – an elegant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend, characterized by an ‘outstanding minerality’ – chosen as the exclusive white wine for this year’s TFWA Inauguration Dinner.
