Inflight Service extends retail services agreement with SAS

By Charlotte Turner |

Inflight Service Europe AB and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have extended their retail services agreement for travel retail products on SAS flights, which sees IFS handle the airline’s pre-order and on-board retailing on all relevant SAS flights. It also includes management of the EPOS and back-office systems and other related administrative services.

The announcement quickly follows the news that IFS and ferry operator Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö have extended their deal for strategic purchasing and distribution of beauty products for another three years from 1 May 2015.

Commenting on the agreement extension with SAS, CEO of Inflight Service Europe AB, Björn Ulfberg says: “We are very happy and proud to have been able to extend our cooperation with SAS and that we have agreed on a contract period that facilitates greater development of the offering to SAS´passengers.

“We are looking forward to working with SAS and supporting them in their vision and ambition with regards to further improving retail strategies and excellent customer service.”

Ingela Alveman, Supply Chain Manager at SAS, added. “Inflight Service have over the years proved to be a dynamic retailer, able to quickly change to new market conditions and always with an interest to drive sales and net profit.

“SAS operational structure is complex and this requires great focus on quality in daily operations. We have found that Inflight Service invests and develops processes, quality measurements and follow up to secure smooth operations. We are looking forward to a continued good cooperation with them.”
