DFP to invest in systems to automate business processes

By Doug Newhouse |

Small-Fiesta-Mall-Beauty-Walk---Duty Free Philippines (DFP) has selected Microsoft Dynamics AX to introduce automated and streamlined business processes aimed at delivering greater efficiency and productivity.

The Hitachi Solutions Philippines Corporation says this new development comes in response to DFP’s need to adopt and implement a fully integrated Enterprise Retail Solution – in line with ‘changing industry trends.’

“Duty Free Philippines strives to provide our customers with the exceptional service they expect from our brand consistent with our ISO 9001:2008 Quality Policy,” said Charles Merioles, CIO, at Duty Free Philippines.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS

“Microsoft Dynamics AX’s ability to seamlessly connect our retail operations will create a cohesive, insightful business management platform for delivering growth and innovation.”

The technology company says it will now make it possible for DFP ‘to streamline, standardise and improve business processes across all levels of the organisation’, while facilitating ‘a better change management process suited to its needs.’

It adds that DFP will now be able to adopt global best practices and industry standards with a global, scalable ERP solution for its very specific needs, with this new system designed to streamline processes, including tailoring the duty free retailer’s point of sale business to the duty free industry.

STREAMLINING PROCESSES…

Other processes that are expected to be ‘streamlined’ include: inventory management and replenishment; procurement; financial management, and human resources.

Jose Ronnel Domingo, IT Manager and ERS Project Manager commented: “Duty Free Philippines, with more than 18 stores and growing, hundreds of employees, and countless day-to-day transactions across the country, will be able to simplify what was once a complicated multi-platform system and turn it into an end-to-end system that can provide them with all of the data they need in real-time, all the time.”
