By Charlotte Turner |

Luxottica Travel Retail has appointed Lisa Koh to position of Travel Retail Key Account Manager for the company’s Asia Pacific & Gulf division, based in Singapore.

Luxottica says that Koh will be responsible for strengthening key strategic partnerships to drive sunglasses category growth in the region, reporting to Travel Retail Regional Sales Director, Justin Ng.

“Bringing an experienced professional of the calibre of Lisa to the Luxottica Travel Retail team is a key move to ensure we build on our momentum in the region,” said Francis Gros, Head of Global Channels at Luxottica.

“Asia Pacific and the Gulf are major growth drivers for Luxottica’s business in travel retail, and it is vital that we continue to support our retailer partners with expert resources.”

Luxottica’s new recruit, Lisa Koh.

Lisa Koh has spent more than 15 years in the travel retail channel in Asia Pacific, 13 of those in commercial sales roles. She joins Luxottica from Revlon, where she spent five years as Regional Sales Director, Travel Retail (Middle East & Asia Pacific).

She has also held travel retail-focused roles with a number of other major brandowners including Shiseido, Givenchy, Guerlain and Parfums Christian Dior, as well as direct retailer experience with DFS.

In the TRBusiness Annual Survey (which is published in the January issue of TRBusiness magazine) Francis Gros told TRBusiness that he sees a big opportunity for growth in sunglasses in Asia, to be driven be multi-format retailing.

“For example, our Sunglass Hut standalone brand is only present in Asia Pacific airports in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Australia and New Zealand,” he said in the Survey.

“As the world’s largest Sunglasses retail brand with over 3,000 stores worldwide, we have a clear intention to grow in Asian airports, either directly operated or in partnership with duty free retailers. I anticipate this footprint to dramatically increase in 2015.”
