ONE2ONE to connect China conference stakeholders

By Doug Newhouse |

TFWA has announced that its successful ONE2ONE meetings service will operate fully at the second China’s Century Conference.

The service will once again consist of pre-arranged meetings between key stakeholders attending the high-powered conference between 10-12 March, at Shanghai’s Jing An Shangri-La Hotel.

Any delegate can take advantage of this opportunity, to seek further information, or just develop their business in China, Asia or beyond – provided they formally register for the service.

Those interested should request meetings and these will then be facilitated in private suites with airport landlords, airline buyers, top retailers and international brand-owners, around the schedule during the two-day conference.

A total of 372 delegates attended the 2013 China’s Century Conference in Beijing, with nearly 50% from Asia and 36% from Europe.

NUMEROUS NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

The organisers says that throughout the event there will be ‘ample opportunity’ for attendees to network and profit from this unique forum organised in partnership with the regional association APTRA in one of the most dynamic markets in the world.

Registration for the conference is open until 20 February at www.tfwa.com; however industry executives are being informed that they must apply early in order to secure registration, business invitation letters to China to secure visas, plus their flights and accommodation.

Interestingly, TFWA points out that it is possible to qualify for a visa exemption for this short stay conference period if an individual is a citizen from one of 45 countries to whom this applies. This is relevant to those who are arriving in Shanghai ‘for a maximum transit stay of 72 hours’ and planning to move on to a destination outside China – but not simply returning to their point of departure.

Any individuals granted this exemption will be expected to remain in Shanghai during the 72-hour period and not travel anywhere else within China. Full details and the list of the 45 countries to which this applies can be found here: http://www.mps.gov.cn/n16/n84147/n84196/3912430.html

THE SPONSORS WHO MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN…

The Opening Cocktail is being sponsored by King Power Group (Hong Kong) and Bally at the UNICO Latin tapas venue and a Luncheon will be provided courtesy of Furla. In addition, there will be a grand Gala Dinner with ballroom entertainment and coffee breaks provided by Coccinelle, Mondelez, Neuhaus and the Stoli Group.

Interparfums and the China Duty Free Group are the Platinum Sponsors for the event. Portfolios will be supplied by Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Shop Co., Ltd; lanyards by LS travel retail and hostess outfits by Lacoste. Delegate gifts are also being donated by APTRA, Kipling, Haribo, La Sultane de Saba and Travalo – among others.

The organisers point out that at the first TFWA China’s Century Conference in 2013 a total of 61 companies registered for ONE2ONE and 112 meetings were facilitated on their behalf. In total 372 delegates attended the landmark conference, nearly 50% from Asia and 36% from Europe. This was also held up by many – including TRBusiness – as one of the best conferences the industry has ever seen in the last 25 years.
