TFWA appoints TRB for 2nd China event

By Doug Newhouse |

TRBusiness is proud to announce that Tax Free World Association has appointed TRBusiness magazine to produce this year’s official TFWA China’s Century Conference magazine.

TFWA’s second China Century Conference is being held on March 10-12, 2015 at the Jing An Shangri-La Hotel (see below) in China’s commercial capital, Shanghai, following last year’s highly-acclaimed inaugural event in Beijing attended by 372 delegates, which was held jointly by TFWA and APTRA.

That event was rightly judged by many to have been “the best industry conference ever” by attendees in terms of quality presentations and content and next March’s event will be no less in-depth, informative and committed to tracking delegates’ understanding of Chinese travellers and their ever evolving aspirations, tastes and expectations.

This year’s official event magazine is being written by TRBusiness’ highly experienced Asia Correspondent David Hayes who is already in China and it will be edited by industry veteran of 30 years Doug Newhouse. The magazine will also be simultaneously and expertly translated into Mandarin Chinese and feature numerous important companies in China.

These articles will include features and interviews with China Duty Free; Sunrise Duty Free (Beijing and Shanghai airports); Beijing Capital International Airport Authority; Shanghai Pudong International Airport Authority; DFS Hainan; Xi’an International Airport; Hangzhou International Airport; plus Lagardère/LSTR; King Power (HK); and Dufry/Nuance.

There will also be coverage of breaking new developments in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, plus new aviation infrastructure developments such as Beijing Daxing International Airport. The important on-going economic reforms being implemented by the relatively new Chinese leadership will also be examined, along with whether the current slowdown in the luxury goods market is likely to continue.

Commenting on the appointment of TRBusiness to produce this exciting event magazine, Alain Maingreaud, Managing Director, Tax Free World Association said: “TFWA is delighted to be working with TRB on this project and encourage our business partners to cooperate with them wherever appropriate.”

Last year’s first TFWA/APTRA China Century Conference was hailed as “the best industry conference ever” by the 372 attending delegates and next March’s Shanghai event is expected to be just as successful.

Adding his comments, Doug Newhouse, Editorial Director of TRBusiness said: “There are few markets in the world that are more fascinating right now than China – both internally and externally.

“Naturally, we are genuinely excited and honoured to have been chosen to produce this year’s edition of the magazine for TFWA and APTRA’s second event and especially after both attending and directly participating in the very first stimulating TFWA China’s Century Conference in Beijing last year.”
