Augustin de Romanet has been re-elected as ACI President for a secomd term of office at this week’s 26th ACI EUROPE Annual Assembly and Congress.
In a mini-speech, de Romanet who is also President & CEO of Aéroports de Paris S.A.– Groupe ADP, said he was grateful for the continued trust placed in him by the voting members.
“It is a great honour to be re-elected to chair ACI EUROPE. There is still a lot of work ahead of us to make European aviation and, in particular, European airports, an asset to foster the European economy.
“In that exciting context, I will keep on doing my best to be available, to guide the Board and the Association, to educate decision makers and to defend the interests of our industry. My priority at all times will be to continue to ensure that we defend the collective interests of all our members, whatever their size or location. I will also work to ensure greater association with our World Business Partners.
PROTECTING AIRPORTS’ INTERESTS
“Beyond this, I will strive to strengthen industry cooperation with airlines, ANSPs and other stakeholders: experience has shown that we are far more effective when we work in harmony with other stakeholders in the industry.
“In my opinion however, such harmony can only be achieved when airports are treated and fully recognised as businesses in their own right.”
Meanwhile, in other appointment developments Thomas Woldbye, CEO, Copenhagen Airports was also appointed to the Board for a first mandate.
At the same time, the following senior executives were all elected to the Board for a second term: Dag Falk-Petersen, CEO of Avinor AS; Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airports; Dr Michael Kerkloh President & CEO of Flughafen Munchen GmBH; Nicolas Notebaert, President of Aéroports du Grand Ouest & VINCI Airports; and Kevin Toland, CEO of daa.
