Belfast International Airport and Aelia Duty Free have partnered with Coindrum to introduce the automated system which turns departing passenger’s leftover foreign coinage into ‘higher value travel retail vouchers’.
As part of Lagardère Travel Retail, Aelia Duty Free is now one of several travel retailers using the system at various locations, with others including Dufry, Heinemann, ARI, IDF and LFP.
Commenting on the new presence for Coindrum, Amaury Dehen, Managing Director of Lagardère Travel Retail UK and Ireland said: “At Lagardère Travel Retail, we strive to create new approaches that deliver results for our customers and for our company. We believe our new collaboration with Coindrum ticks all the boxes.”
ADDING VALUE TO CUSTOMER JOURNEY…
Commercial Services Manager at Belfast International Airport Deirdre Graffin as well as Michele Hunter, General Manager at Lagardère Travel Retail in Belfast joined Coindrum CEO Lukas Decker at the launch ceremony.
Hunter commented: “Aelia Duty Free strives to present the best offering to our customers in terms of value and service. The addition of Coindrum at Belfast International Airport does just that”.
The company adds that all vouchers issued by Coindrum are worth 110% of the coins deposited as an extra incentive to use the service. Coindrum CEO Lukas Decker added: “We are proud of the growth in our partnerships with the key players of the travel retail industry.
“The expansion we experienced this year is simply a function of our success in positively impacting the business results of our partners.”
