MXP Milan app mainMilan’s Malpensa (MXP) and Linate (LIN) airports – both run by SEA Group – have launched an all-new app for passengers giving them access to features, including shopping and dining, to improve their travel experience – and on a more interactive basis than the previous app.

The retail and online shopping functions are prominent.

Italy’s SEA is using beacon technology-based systems so that, upon arrival, any traveller using the app with a Bluetooth-enabled IOS or Android smartphone can receive personalised notifications and information about a vast variety of airport services.

A complete list of LIN and MXP retailers and restaurants, as well as information about how to get to the airport and where to park, traffic updates and transport options are featured so that passengers can plan ahead, especially when it comes to shopping.

The integration of the beacon system with all-digital airline ticketing, parking and FastTrack voucher purchases at the SEA e-commerce site also enables travellers to have a fully paperless airport experience.

The system includes ‘live chat’ with customer care representatives and free call-backs when necessary. App users receive free, unlimited access to high-speed wifi browsing at both airports, as well as discounts and personalised offers.

The current languages available are Italian, English and Chinese and the app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
