Alpha LSG’s inaugural OMG! Awards ceremony for Thomas Cook Airlines brought to a close an innovative two-day training event – held 22–23 April 2015 – designed to propel the airline’s excellent customer service standards and help deliver improved commercial results for the carrier.

Crew members took part in training and a range of fun, interactive sessions to learn how to forge fast relationships with customers and develop a better understanding of their needs. Alpha LSG’s inflight retail team and key suppliers were also on hand to help explain how different brands and products are sourced and selected for specific flight paths.

The awards, handed out during a glamorous masquerade ball, recognised the achievements of Thomas Cook Airlines cabin crew in terms of inflight sales and passenger service.

The award for Highest Average Spend per Head was won by Belfast-based Dean Alexander (pictured top right) who was presented with a medal, Champagne and a cheque for £1,000 by Cor Vrieswijk, Chief Operating Office of Thomas Cook Airlines and Alex Forbes, Chief Operating Officer of Alpha LSG. Andrea Kent of Manchester was named runner-up.

Tamara Henderson of Stansted and Gatwick was crowned Top Incentive Winner 2014 and took home a trophy, medal and Champagne, while Cardiff took the trophy for Best Base with the Highest Incentive Participation. A medal was awarded to Aron Wallis of Birmingham for his Commitment to Incentives.

Special Recognition Awards went to Cara Tunstall of Manchester (pictured above, along with (l-r) Alan Hayes, Alpha LSG; Oliver Zebedee Howard, and Shoot the Moon’s Phil Marshall) for her Creative Cart Top Displays and Spencer Ritson of Gatwick for his Commitment to Sales Feedback.

For Commitment & Dedication, two Special Mention Awards went to Matthew Taylor-Fray & Jo Whinder, both from Manchester Airport.
