By Charlotte Turner |

Anna-Szentivanyi-MondelezMondelez WTR has today announced the departure of Anna Szentivanyi, Manager Category & Customer Development, who will continue her career within Mondelez International as Manager Snacking Activation & Sales Capabilities and will strengthen the central Sales Strategy team in Mondelēz International’s biggest region, Europe.

“During her seven years in travel retail, Anna was a strong voice within the industry, advocating a shift towards a more insight-based, shopper-centric mindset and more widespread adoption of the ‘Trinity’ principles of closer collaboration and shared risk and reward between airports, retailers and brand owners,” says Mondelēz.

Szentivanyi spearheaded a number of Mondelez WTR’s most high-profile public initiatives, including the creation of the ‘Delighting Travelers’ category vision and the development of Trinity Engine – the travel retail industry’s first app for modelling sustainable collaborations across the value chain.

Andreas Fehr, Managing Director at Mondelez WTR said: “Whilst we are very proud of Anna being selected for this important role, we are obviously sad to lose such a successful and influential member of our leadership team.

“Under Anna’s leadership the customer marketing function has become a genuine asset to the WTR organisation. Her strategic skills and visionary thinking coupled with her ability to bring key elements of our strategy and category vision to life have enabled the organisation to make a quantum leap towards “best in class” status in our industry.

“I want to take the opportunity to thank Anna for the drive, passion and commitment she has shown over the last couple of years. Anna will be greatly missed by all of us within Mondelez WTR.”

NEW CATEGORY PLANNING TEAM IN PLACE

Alongside the departure of Anna Szentivanyi and in-line with the recently announced sales re-organization, Mondelez WTR has also announced the creation of a new Category Planning team. This function will be led by Ivo Knuesel, who spent five years as Mondelez WTR’s Regional Manager for Americas, and six years prior to that as the leader of the sales operations function.

The newly created Category Planning team will build on the momentum built by Mondelez WTR’s customer marketing team in areas such as insight-based category strategy and activation programmes and the translation of the ‘Delighting Travelers’ vision into customer development programmes.

This new team is created in line with the recently announced changes to Mondelez WTR’s sales organisation.

Fehr adds: “I am excited to see the next chapter in the development our insight based, shopper-centric strategy, and am convinced that we have the best possible structure and individuals in place to support this vision. Under Ivo’s leadership this team will play a key role in driving closer collaboration with partners to improve standards in confectionery retail and grow the category.”
