GuestLogix is working with ISPY this week

By Doug Newhouse |

GuestLogix reports that it is participating in the Inflight Sales Person of the Year (ISPY) 2015 event this week to unveil its new SmartPOS crew engagement platform.

As reported already, this week’s ISPY event (at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, UK) comprises global airline professionals and concessionaires engaged in four days of learning, networking and awards distribution (January 26 to 29, 2015). At the heart of the event – as usual – are the top selling cabin crew members from 40 of the world’s leading airlines.

Explaining its involvement with ISPY, GuestLogix states: “Delegates will be equipped with Samsung Galaxy tablets operating GuestLogix’ powerful and user-friendly SmartPOS solution, including enhanced functionality for access to additional product and brand details, as well as sales techniques for upselling and cross selling.

“Feedback forms and manuals, powered by Comply365, will also be pre-loaded to showcase how the combined solution can be leveraged to further enhance retail performance and the passenger experience. As a major sponsor of this event, GuestLogix will have the opportunity to place its technology into the hands of airline professionals as well as generate valuable feedback on the crew engagement functionality.”

Adding his comments, GuestLogix President & CEO Brett Proud said: “GuestLogix is proud to collaborate with Travel Retail Training to launch an exciting crew engagement initiative at ISPY2015.

“Airlines are looking for ways to better engage with their front line staff to further drive ancillary revenue generation and enhance the passenger experience. Together with TRT, we will provide the tools and information necessary to ensure that airline crew are knowledgeable and confident in their ability to maximize sales using our next-generation retail technology for smartphones and tablets.”

ISPY FEATURES HEALTHY COMPETITIONS

The company adds that airline crew and management professionals will participate in teams of two and be equipped with Samsung Galaxy tablets for multi-purpose use in competitions throughout the ISPY event.

In addition to being preloaded with GuestLogix’ retail platform and crew engagement functionality, these will also provide access to the event calendar, each team’s specific agenda, plus social media networks such as twitter and Yammer, as well as enable teams to engage with the ISPY organizers.

Commenting, ISPY event founder Christine Martin, Managing Director, Travel Retailing Training Ltd said: “We have held fourteen ISPY events to date and have worked with the most promising industry technology providers to develop training events that are the most unique in the industry, bar none.

“This year we’ve teamed up with GuestLogix to launch a crew engagement platform and initiative that improves crew members’ abilities to provide recommendations to passengers, while also increasing the ancillary revenue potential for their airlines. Platform features include prompts for product descriptions and benefits, as well as tips that aid in maximizing each sale.”

Prior to event commencement, participants will have access to a series of online training modules to prepare for the competition and help ‘level the playing field’ of knowledge amongst the world’s top selling cabin crew. Upon completion of the ISPY forum, GuestLogix will also have the opportunity to showcase its technology to all participating airlines and concessionaires in attendance.

GuestLogix claims to be the leading global provider of ancillary-focused merchandising, payment and business intelligence technology to airlines and the passenger travel industry.
