Kering Eyewear grows TR team via Safilo, Luxottica

By Kevin Rozario |

Kering Eyewear, the newly formed division of the luxury group, headed by ex-Safilo CEO Roberto Vedovotto, has added two new personnel to its duty free division headed by Omar Hagi.

Pietro Scognamiglio (left), former Head of Travel Retail Asia at rival Safilo, joins Kering in a similar role as Head of Travel Retail Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. He will lead the expansion of Kering Eyewear in Asia Pacific and Oceania.

Scognamiglio started his career at L’Oréal Group in sales and trade marketing and in his time at Safilo he managed international key accounts in the EMEA region before taking on Asia Pacific.

Marco Cancellara (right) joins as Area Sales Manager Travel Retail EMEA, based in Italy. He was previously Field Account Manager for Italy at Luxottica and has also worked on the set up of the boutiques channel and the key accounts in various European locations.

Hagi comments: “Pietro and Marco both come from the eyewear industry, with different international experiences, enriching our team with a complete set of professional skills that will support the global expansion of our brand portfolio in travel retail.”

Kering Group fashion and lifestyle brands include Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, McQ, Stella McCartney, Boucheron and Puma.
