Russian Standard exceeds 200k TR cases during depressed year for vodka

By Caroline Sargent |

The growth trajectory continues for Russian Standard Vodka which, according to IWSR’s recently released Travel Retail Top 100 ranking, reveals it has become the third-fastest growing vodka brand in the channel in 2013, surpassing 200,000 9l cases for the first time.

Over a period where vodka saw a general decline in sales, Russian Standard was described as enjoying ‘healthy growth rates’ and listed as the sixth fastest growing spirit overall in travel retail.

Highlighted within the IWSR report as a contributory factor to the brand’s buoyancy was Russian Standard’s series of Limited Edition Packs, which added innovation, inspiration and gifting appeal to the travel retail business.

The report also adds that from 2009-2013, Russian Standard doubled its travel retail volumes, with a compound annual growth rate of over 18%.
