Two new studies at first Cannes research event

By Kevin Rozario |

Duty free and travel retail association, TFWA, is hosting its first research workshop at the TFWA show in Cannes next month, open to registered show delegates.

The one-hour event, on Wednesday 21 October, starts as the doors of the exhibition close at 6pm. The workshop will present findings of TFWA’s most recent research studies, all of which are available free of charge to members.

Peter Mohn, Owner and CEO, m1nd-set, and Alison Hughes, Research Director, Counter Intelligence Retail, will present highlights of their studies, moderated by TFWA Conference, Research & Corporate Affairs Director John Rimmer.

TFWA says: “Provision of detailed, actionable research studies has long been one of the Association’s key services to its members.”

TWO MAJOR COMMISSIONS

Over the past year, TFWA has commissioned two major series of reports: the TFWA Airport Series, conducted by m1nd-set, and the current series of TFWA Category Reports focusing on individual product categories, in partnership with Counter Intelligence Retail.

Other workshops include Market Watch on Tuesday 20 October (Majestic Hotel, for an hour from 8am) focused on South Korea, and Inflight Focus on Wednesday 21 (Majestic Hotel also for an hour  from 8am).

Market Watch will feature speakers including SK Walkerhill Senior Vice President & Head of Duty Free Division Mikyong Kwon, and Yang Soung-hoon, Professor of the Division of International Tourism at Silla University in Busan.

The airline event is led by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Category Manager Inflight Retail, John Linssen; Inflight Sales Group Director Europe & Africa Karen Durban; and Counter Intelligence Retail MD Garry Stasiulevicuis.

Delegates are requested to pre-register for the workshops by contacting Catherine Fily at [email protected].
