Vitalit FlyFit brand makes strong retail progress

By Doug Newhouse |

Vitalit Laboratories reports that two of its ‘fatigue fighting’ FlyFit brand lines will shortly be available in more than 50 airport locations with WHSmith.

The FlyFit brand owner claims to have made major progress since it entered the travel retail and hotel arenas and claims that this, in turn, has helped build confidence with retailers that the ‘Travel Healthy, Arrive Fit’ products deliver what they claim.

“The FlyFit product line is made to counter the stressful effects of travelling. Last year we designed and developed a broad portfolio, including full services and assembled snack boxes like a breakfast service, delay service, kids service and night services – all aimed at airline passengers,” said the company.

“They all fit airline requirements and are hence easy to stow and serve. All will be showcased at our FlyFit booth at the World Travel Catering Expo in Hamburg in April of this year.”

To date, the brand has been supplied to Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia over the last two years and received ‘positive feedback’ for its products.

It also claims to have ‘made some big steps into retail’ with W-hotels (the Starwood Group); CitizenM hotels (in Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Glasgow); plus Schiphol’s grab & fly shops (where an additional three shops are planned) and at Vitaminstores (21 locations).

ASIAN AND MIDDLE EAST FOCUS

The brand is also focusing on the Asian and Middle East market as these are perceived to be way ahead of some others when it comes to health-related products. The first airline launch in Asia is expected in March, while in the Middle East, Saudi Arabian Airlines has been selling FlyFit products to passengers for a year now.

Vitalit Laboratories says it is also very excited by its global roll out with WHSmith in Europe, India, the Middle East, Australia, South Pacific, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and other locations.

The company said: “This year we will roll out our product line in 50 stores with WHSmith at airports throughout the world. WHSmith is one of most productive retail spaces in the world, so this will give a lot of exposure to the brand.

“We will offer the visitors FlyFit direct-to-mouth 10-pack shots and 3-pack with nutritional FlyFit bars for on the go. Our goal is to double our presence in 2016 and be offered at US airports as well by that time.”

[The company adds that it only recently shipped a large quantity of cranberry-flavoured direct-to-mouth product from its Amsterdam warehouse to a US airline customer, which will start flying with it at the end of February].

This year, Vitalit Laboratories has also launched its first Tetra Pak drink for the airline industry, with launch customer Emirates. This is described as ‘a healthy berry beverage’, which has been developed by FlyFit in a Tetra Prisma 125 ml pack.

From next month the company’s products will also be available from its flyfit shop at www.flyfit.com.

CIRCULATION BENEFIT CLAIM

The brand owner says this is ‘the smallest drink ever made for the airline industry’, which means less waste, a lower price and less space needed to stow the products.

Another product that has been developed for retail and airlines is called FlyFit Flow and this is being made available in capsule/supplement format and as an beverage.

Describing the claimed health benefits, the company said: “The drink helps to support a healthy blood flow for up to 18 hours and is 100% natural. The drink is a breakthrough beverage and helps to protect from DVT, which is a hot item in airline industry.

“Currently, we also serve airline crew members. In the USA we signed a deal with FedEx crew and in Australia we serve Jetstar crew as well. They serve the FlyFit vitamin shots to keep them fit during work.”

Last, but not least, the company adds that from next month its products will also be available from its flyfit shop at www.flyfit.com.
