World Duty Free debut for Michael Kors for Men

By Caroline Sargent |

Inspired by the ultimate jet setter comes Michael Kors for Men, the New York design house’s latest fragrance release.

Pitched at the man who knows how to balance urban sophistication and rugged style, the Eau de Toilette opens with bright, fresh top notes of bergamot, enhanced with energising and herbaceous elemi, thyme and black pepper, stimulating coriander and star anise.

The warmth of incense and smooth notes of suede are joined by aromatic sage, creating a masculine signature scent that is enriched by earthy undertones of patchouli, sandalwood, sleek woods and rich musk at the core.

Michael Kors for Men is presented in a heavy clear glass bottle in 2.3oz or 4oz sizes with a black faux horn cap and chrome accents, and is currently an exclusive at World Duty Free locations until 31 March 2015, after which point it will be on sale at all travel retail locations worldwide.

A high-impact commercial depicting the jet-set lifestyle of the Michael Kors man was premiered at the WDF launch. Shot in Miami and around the Florida Keys, the short was directed by Amir Mokri and stars supermodel Benjamin Eidem together with Michael Kors’ muse Karmen Pedaru.

The accompanying print advertising campaign was shot in California with world-renowned photographer Mario Testino and also features Benjamin Eidem.

“Michael Kors has always been ahead of his time and this is true for the men’s fragrance,” says Trudi Loren, Senior Vice President of Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide, The Estée Lauder Companies, and the exclusive licensee of Michael Kors fragrances.

“This is for a man who cares about his appearance and really takes effort with his look and style. We created a fragrance that embodies all of that—a modern, woody, oriental fragrance with top notes of spices and nuances of aromatics that brings this man’s man fragrance to life.”
