In total, there were more than 100 Dubai Duty Free volunteer blood donors who were all presented with a certificates for their generosity in helping other people at the company’s headquarters.

Colm McLoughlin said: “I am really pleased to know that Dubai Duty Free is a company that takes blood donation seriously as part of our corporate social responsibility. For the past six years, we have had 312 blood donors and I hope that figure continues to rise as it is such an important way of helping others and possibly saving lives.”

The leading DG&TR retailer has participated in the Blood Donation Campaign annually since 2011 and involved itself in seven campaigns delivering no less than 452 pints of blood to the Dubai Blood Donation Center at Al Latifa Hospital.

DDF added: “At present, 62 countries around the world collect 100 per cent of their blood supply from voluntary, unpaid blood donors. But the WHO’s goal is for all countries to obtain all their blood supplies from voluntary unpaid donors by 2020.”
