Orlando-Airport-website-leadWith passenger traffic at an all-time high, Orlando International Airport (MCO) has redesigned its website, improving wayfinding and the shops and restaurants directory.

The new fully responsive design means that the website reconfigures to fit whatever device is being used to view it, thereby increasing user-friendliness.

The Shops & Restaurants page now features a filter so the user can view everything, drill down to view just those concessions in a particular area of the airport or search for a particular name or other keyword.

The site is currently available in English, but will soon be translated into Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic.

‘THOUSANDS OF DOWNLOADS’

The airport also reveals that its app has now been downloaded by thousands of iPhone and Android users to enhance their MCO travel experience. The app was developed to provide flight information and ease airport wayfinding through the use of 1,000 wireless beacons.

Orlando International became the first US airport to employ beacon technology to facilitate Blue Dot real-time navigation throughout the entire airport complex.

Recent innovations have further enabled the airport app to assist customers along their airport journey. New features include: Access to MCO’s new HD radio station; beacons installed on the 1st level outdoor curbsides to enhance the blue dot and navigation experience and finally updates on the latest restaurants and shops.
