Godawan expands Triple Cask travel retail exclusive to Mumbai and Delhi

Godawan Triple Cask is crafted exclusively for travel retail.

Diageo India has expanded the distribution of its travel retail-exclusive Godawan Triple Cask expression, with the award-winning Indian single malt now available at duty free stores in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The expansion strengthens the footprint of Godawan across key domestic and international travel hubs, with the Triple Cask variant also listed in Dubai and Bangalore duty free.

Crafted exclusively for the travel retail channel, Godawan Triple Cask reflects the brand’s positioning around craftsmanship, mindful luxury and conscious consumption. Distilled at the Alwar distillery in Rajasthan, the expression is matured in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in PX sherry, virgin oak and cherry wood casks – a combination designed to deliver added depth and complexity.

Bottled at 46% ABV in a 700ml format, the whisky presents floral and fruity aromas, a sweet and textured palate and a light, balanced wood finish. With a recommended price of approximately INR 5,500 (£45), the expression is positioned as a premium gifting and collecting proposition for travelling consumers.

Launched in 2022, Godawan has rapidly built recognition as one of India’s most awarded single malts, with more than 100 international accolades. At the 2026 International Taste Institute’s Superior Taste Awards, Godawan 01, Godawan 02 and Godawan 173 each received the highest distinction of Triple Gold.

Named after the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard, the brand also integrates a conservation dimension, with each bottle contributing to habitat preservation initiatives in Rajasthan – reinforcing its terroir-led and purpose-driven credentials.

Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer at Diageo India, said: “With our presence now expanding across key global travel retail markets, these channels allow us to engage with consumers at moments of discovery, where gifting, collecting and connection naturally come together. By creating expressions that are both collectable and culturally rooted, Godawan continues to position Indian whisky as a definitive voice of craftsmanship in the world’s most connected spaces. The Godawan Triple Cask Travel Exclusive brings a new dimension of flavour and depth. For a brand shaped by terroir and storytelling, this format helps us carry the spirit of Rajasthan to a broader global audience in a way that is personal, purposeful, and proudly Indian.”

The move reflects the growing prominence of Indian single malts within global travel retail, as domestic brands increasingly leverage duty free channels to showcase provenance-driven, premium spirits to an international audience.
