ADAC agrees to help Fujairah Airport

The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Fujairah Airport have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to create an expansion programme for the facility.Amongst the priorities are enhancing the airport’s facilities and ADAC plans to help it manage and support its airport expansion programme incorporating several proposed component projects, as well as assist during during construction phases.ADAC says that ‘in the spirit of cooperation, friendship and support’ it will provide guidance to gel management work with third-party construction managers, design consultants, construction contractors and other partiesH.E Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Abu Dhabi Airports is always eager to support any initiative that will further develop the aviation infrastructure in the UAE and the region. Today’s partnership will capitalize on the know-how that the company holds to support our peers in enhancing their facilities and further accommodating their growing demand.”H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Al Salami, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation of the Emirate of Fujairah, said: “We are glad to sign this Memorandum of Cooperation today between Abu Dhabi Airports and the Department of Civil Aviation of the emirate of Fujairah with regards to the development programme for Al Fujairah International Airport”. Fujairah is home to the UAE’s fifth and only airport on the east coast which became operational in October 1987.
