Dufry do Brasil gets ISO Certification

Dufry do Brasil has received ISO 14001 certification confirming its commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
The retailer’s business in Guarulhos, São Paulo received the ISO 14001 certification, which is only awarded to companies combining efficient operations with careful management of environmental impacts.
Dufry said that ‘through the implementation of several initiatives, coordinated by an Environmental Management Committee and with the support from Dufry´s employees, the company was able to change practices and processes in order to reduce the environmental impact from its operations’.
It said that amongst the most relevant actions was the construction of a groundwater treatment facility, so optimising water and energy consumption and the creation of specific containers for waste collection.
José Carlos Rosa, COO of Region America II, said: “This process has not only been the first step in terms of establishing Dufry as an environmentally-friendly company in the travel retail sector, but it also represents an important milestone in its commitment to continue being the best shopping choice for travellers all over the world.”
