LATAM workers threaten strike

By Doug Newhouse |

Maintenance workers at LATAM Airlines are threatening a region-wide strike in support of action by its Peruvian members – ahead of the World Cup tournament.

According to a Reuters report, the dispute is over pay rates and maintenance worker unions claim to be petitioning members on potential strike action in several South American locations.

LATAM Airlines is the largest carrier in the region with operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.
