Kellanova adds corn chips to Pringles travel retail menu
By Kevin Rozario |
The ubiquitous Pringles brand has made a move into corn chips in travel retail with the arrival of a Belgium-produced nachos line in three flavours: original, cheese and paprika, marking a new growth avenue for the popular snacking brand.
From September, the travel retail channel and Benelux domestic market are the first to sell the new collection, according to Kellanova Assistant Brand Manager Pringles – Benelux and Global Travel Retail, Lou Gagneux. Other regions like Asia and the Middle East are expected to have Pringles Nachos in their domestic markets from early next year.
“In every market in the world there is more and more demand for corn chips,” said Kellanova sales manager Sander Witteveen at a press event at the TFWA show in Cannes. “At the moment we are really focusing on Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, but in the future we will also open the Americas.” No specific timeline for the wider geographical expansion has been fixed.
Billion-dollar babies
Pringles is one of Kellanova’s three billion-dollar brands, the others being Cheez-It and Kellogg’s. Mars acquired the company in December 2025 following the clearance of regulatory approvals. This came over a year after initially obtaining Kellanova shareholder approval in November 2024 for a deal valued at $35.9bn at the time. The Kellanova portfolio now falls under the Mars Snacking division.
The existing Mars portfolio includes a number of billion-dollar snacking and confectionery brands like Snickers, M&M’s, Twix, Dover, Skittles, and Extra, as well as Kind and Nature’s Bakery. Family-owned Mars Incorporated has a stated ambition to double Mars Snacking in the next decade in alignment with global consumer demand trends.
