The Jeju Island debut marks Miki House’s fifth permanent duty-free location.

Premium Japanese children’s brand Miki House has opened its first duty free store in South Korea, at Lotte Duty Free Jeju, on Jeju Island.

The debut marks Miki House’s fifth permanent duty-free location, following openings at Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex, Hainan Tourism Duty Free, and Kansai International Airport in Japan.

The new 60sq m Miki House boutique is located in the Luxury Fashion Zone on the second floor of Lotte Duty Free Jeju, and is the first children’s apparel brand to open in this area.

A spokesperson for Regency Korea, the local Korean import agent for Miki House’s duty free business, commented: “Miki House is recognised for its unique technical expertise and exceptional quality.

“Trusted by families over many years, the brand appeals to customers who value both functionality and lasting quality, and who seek the very best for their children.”

The Jeju store incorporates warm, wood-inspired interiors and colourful wall installations inspired the island’s famous tangerines and coastline, to create a sense of place.

The boutique offers a wide selection of apparel, including lightweight outerwear, hats, children’s backpacks, toys, souvenirs, keepsakes and gifts.

In May, Miki House exhibited for the first time at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition and Conference, in line with the brand’s ambitions to expand its travel retail footprint.

Looking ahead, the company is targeting expansion opportunities across South Korea, Japan, the Middle East and India, alongside other key markets worldwide.
