NUB México features the signature NUB Cigars shape

Oliva has unveiled the limited-edition Serie V Melanio Year of the Goat cigar as part of the Lunar series while newly-launched NUB México takes inspiration from its namesake’s culture.

Presented at Intertabac, the new Oliva cigars mark the Year of the Goat, which begins on 6 February 2027. Production is capped at 2,000 boxes worldwide, or 20,000 cigars.

“The Goat doesn’t chase attention, it earns it quietly, and that’s exactly the cigar we set out to build,” said Fred Vandermarliere, CEO of Vandermarliere Cigar Family.

This blend is offered in a single Double Toro format, 6 x 60, handmade at the Oliva factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It is presented in a red lacquered collector’s box of 10, finished with a goat illustration.

Distribution will focus on Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with availability ahead of Lunar New Year 2027. Its retail price is US $35 per cigar, or $350 per box of ten.

To pay homage to one of the region’s “versatile and sacred plants”, NUB has introduced NUB México, a new line inspired by this ancient culture. Mesoamerica is the bedrock of ancient civilizations, whose legacy continues to echo through the ages, according to the company.

“In 2025, we introduced a new baseline for NUB Cigars: Still Standing,” stated Fred Vandermarliere, CEO of VCF: “The NUB Cigar community is truly one of a kind. The brand represents a way of life —one centered around bold flavour, premium craftsmanship, and shared experiences. NUB México builds on this foundation by extending the community to the very roots of tobacco and the shared moments that bring out the best in every experience.”

NUB México features the signature NUB Cigars shape, paired with a Mexican wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and filler.  The thinner, lighter wrapper is designed to make the cigar balanced and brighter in colour, while the Jalapa binder offers a “fruity sweetness”. Medium-bodied and slightly spicy, the cigar also features earthy notes, indicated the brand.

The 460 are available in both US and international markets, while the 464T are offered exclusively in the US. Both are presented in specially designed boxes inspired by Mexico’s ancient Aztec heritage.
