Travel Blue to launch Airflow 3D-printed pillow in Cannes
By Tina Milton |
Travel essentials company Travel Blue is set to launch a next-generation support cushion, Airflow, at the upcoming TFWA Word Exhibition in Cannes.
The technologically advanced travel pillow, uses a 3D-printed structure that creates a breathable, lightweight, comfortable product.
According to Travel Blue, it is the first 3D-printed travel pillow in travel retail.
Airflow will take centre stage at the Travel Blue stand, and the cushion’s production process will be shown on a screen to demonstrate how it is made.
A 3D-printer will also be available on-site so visitors can see how the pillows are made.
“The future of travel pillows is already here”, said Travel Blue Managing Director Daniel Levin.
“Travel Blue is at the forefront of innovation, bringing new technology to create the best travel essential solutions for passengers.”
Airflow offers functional advantages over memory foam or inflatable travel pillows by using a structural frame rather than traditional soft cushioning, according to Travel Blue.
The pillows are made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which produces a lattice, designed to flex under pressure.
As its name suggests, the open matrix construction allows “air flow from all sides, keeping the pillow cool”.
Airflow pillows, which are designed to be lightweight and easy to clean, are available for €69.90 in a range of colours.
