Dufre presents Æterna Gin and VE Nice Gin at TFWA in Cannes
By Tina Milton |
Duty Free & Travel Retail consultancy Dufre is showcasing Italian craft gins Æterna Gin and VE Nice Gin at the TFWA in Cannes at Yellow Village, booth G46.
Inspired by Rome and Venice respectively, the two gins sit at the core of an approach designed to demonstrate “Italian excellence” through distinctive products that connect quality, history and destination identity.
Furthermore, Italian craftsmanship and a sense of place underpin a travel-retail strategy that turns a purchase into a lasting memory of the journey.
Dufre cites m1nd-set research that indicates three in ten travellers actively look for something local or original and such insight reinforces the opportunity to connect travel-retail assortments with destinations.
Æterna Gin and VE Nice Gin bring this vision to life through two interpretations of Italy: botanicals, visual identity and cultural references create a sensory experience that travellers can revisit long after their journey, notes Dufre.
Designed to capture the character of Rome, Æterna Gin combines Alpine juniper, rosemary, orange blossom, black pepper, bay leaf, thyme and lemon.
Its aromatic profile aims to recall Mediterranean vegetation and the city’s gardens: bay leaf aims to evoke the glory of ancient Rome, while rosemary, thyme and citrus notes suggest scents familiar to the Italian landscape.
Æterna Gin features a matte green bottle, with gold detailing and Rome’s skyline, designed to be eye-catching on-shelf.
VE Nice Gin pays tribute to Venice through Alpine juniper, lemon verbena, rosemary, bay leaf, mint and black pepper. Its fresh, herbal and spicy notes offer a sensory interpretation of the city: the freshness suggests the atmosphere of the lagoon, while black pepper evokes Venice’s mercantile heritage and its historic connections to the spice routes.
Both gins are crafted by Distillerie Valentini 1872, one of Italy’s historic craft distilleries, and presented in 700 ml bottles at 42% ABV. The gins are available at some Italian airports.
