Proximo Spirits to preview RTD offer at TFWA
By Tina Milton |
Proximo Spirits will unveil new ready-to-drink (RTD) expressions from José Cuervo and The Kraken Rum at next week’s Tax Free World Association (TFWA) World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, targeting the opportunity for convenient, flavour-led formats.
New launches from two of its flagship brands, José Cuervo and The Kraken Rum for global distribution in 2027, are set to strengthen its RTD line-up in global travel retail.
These RTDs will be showcased alongside recent TREX launches onboard the Sud yacht, Harbour Village in Cannes.
The additions symbolise a new focus on RTDs within Proximo Spirits’ GTR portfolio, enabling the company’s travel-retail partners to explore formats designed around convenience and flavour.
Leading the new line-up will be the José Cuervo Sparkling Lime Margarita. Inspired by the popular cocktail, this new expression combines José Cuervo’s tequila heritage with the convenience of a contemporary RTD format, according to the group.
José Cuervo Sparkling Lime Margarita delivers a balance of lime and tequila with a hint of fizz, citrus aromas and a lime finish. At 4.5% ABV and presented in a convenient 250ml can, the RTD requires no mixing and is designed to be opened and enjoyed wherever the occasion takes consumers.
Its familiar Margarita flavour also offers GTR retailers an accessible proposition with the potential to recruit consumers into both the José Cuervo brand and wider tequila category.
Proximo Spirits will also introduce two The Kraken Black Spiced RTDs, inspired by popular serves for the rum brand: The Kraken Black Spiced Ginger and The Kraken Black Spiced Cola.
The Kraken Black Spiced Ginger RTD builds on an established The Kraken serve combining spiced rum with ginger beer. Meanwhile, The Kraken Black Spiced Cola RTD combines The Kraken Black Spiced with a fruit cola flavour.
Roy Summers, Head of Global Travel Retail at Proximo Spirits, said: “Convenience and flavour are the key pillars for Proximo Spirits and our new focus on RTDs for the global travel-retail market. We see significant potential for the category in GTR, where consumers are looking for products that are easy to understand and enjoy, but which still deliver the distinctive flavours and brand experiences they know and trust.”
