APTRA Summer in the City event

Anson Bailey is to speak at the APTRA Summer in the City networking event, held in Hong Kong.

The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) is to welcome Anson Bailey, KPMG’s Head of Consumer and Retail ASPAC, to its APTRA Summer in the City networking event in Hong Kong on 2 August.

Bailey will present an update on travel trends and the impact of Chinese consumers looking into 2024.

He will also explore the state of the market across ASEAN and South East Asia. In addition, he will present insights on the impact of tech and innovations including AI.

The Summer in the City networking event will be held at Duddell’s in HK Central, which holds a Michelin star.

It is set to take place from 5:30-8:30pm in association with Women in Travel Retail+ (WITR+).

Places are limited to 100 people, and tickets are available priced at US$100 per person to cover costs.

Entry includes Duddell’s renowned dim sum and drinks.

APTRA’s Summer in the City event is open to APTRA and WITR+ members, as well as other travel retail industry stakeholders.

The evening will raise funds for the Koma Karanth Foundation, which builds homes and provides education for deprived communities in the Phillippines.

APTRA Summer in the City insights: ‘invaluable asset’

“We are delighted to welcome Anson Bailey to join us at the Summer in the City networking evening in Hong Kong,” said Sunil Tuli, President of APTRA & Group CEO King Power Group (Hong Kong).

“Anson is well respected for his deep knowledge of the retail and consumer sectors across Asia Pacific and having him share his strategic insight on post-pandemic consumer dynamics will be an invaluable asset for attendees.

“We have a few places left and encourage anyone interested to book their place via [email protected] as soon as possible as numbers are limited.”

The Koma Karanth Foundation was founded by actor, producer, writer, humanitarian and stand-up comedian Maitreyi Karanth. It is WITR+’s focus charity for 2023.
