Bacardi and FaSoLa unveil The Whisky Emporium shop-in-shop at Tokyo Narita
By Luke Barras-hill |

NAA Retailing Corporation and Bacardi Global Travel have introduced a whiskies shop-in-shop showcasing the latter’s portfolio at Tokyo Narita International Airport Terminal 1.
An interactive space allows travellers to explore the Dewar’s blended Scotch whisky range and several of Bacardi’s renowned single malts: Aberfeldy, Royal Brackla and Aultmore.
Travellers can discover the heritage and craftsmanship behind the brands, sample liquid at a tasting bar and visit a gifting area to learn more about Bacardi’s innovation.
Whisky experts are on hand to guide visitors through a curated arrangement of luxury whiskies including Aberfeldy 45 Year Old limited edition, the distillery’s oldest release to date, and Aberfeldy 25 Year Old 125th anniversary edition.
An interactive digital screen offers greater storytelling, complemented by illuminated display cabinets presenting the ranges, accompanied by detailed tasting notes for each bottle.
Premium expressions are accented against imposing photography and illustrations designed to bring to life the distinctive character of each distillery, says Bacardi.
Exclusive items include the Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old Stone Toasted expressions, finished in a Magma stone toasted American oak and French oak cask.
Whisky connoisseurs will also find the highly collectible Dewar’s Double Double 37 Year Old blended malt finished in Oloroso sherry casks from the Aultmore distillery.

The Whisky Emporium, a collaboration between Bacardi Global Travel Retail and NAA Retailing Corporation’s trading fascia FaSoLa, provides a welcoming environment for travellers to learn more about innovation within the Bacardi whisky portfolio and sample premium liquids across the portfolio (see below).
Bacardi says the opening of the Whisky Emporium comes at a ‘pivotal time’ for the whisky category.
Citing IWSR figures, Bacardi points to an acceleration in the prestige-plus segment (above $200) with an estimated +18.5% CAGR between 2023-2028, which the firm says underscores heightened demand for the category in markets such as Japan.
“We are thrilled to bring this new Whisky Emporium to Tokyo Narita, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs,” said Sam Pickard, AMEA Regional Director, Bacardi Global Travel Retail.

“With passenger numbers surging by 22% last year and Japan ranking as the seventh-largest whisky market globally, Narita is the ideal location for our latest whisky experience. This partnership with NAA Retailing Corporation allows us to engage whisky lovers in an exciting and meaningful way, offering them access to our premium portfolio while celebrating the artistry behind Dewar’s and our sublime range of single malts.”
