DutyZeroappDuty Zero by cdf – the retail fascia of joint venture China Duty Free Group and Lagardère Travel Retail (CDF-Lagardère Company Limited) – will extend its duty free pre-order app to departures at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), according to partner Diebold Nixdorf.

The app currently permits arrivals passengers to pre-order food & liquor up to three days in advance to collect from the arrivals hall pick-up counter.

“The Duty Zero by cdf customer app is one of our greatest achievements, and we firmly believe it will not only drive customer engagement and satisfaction, but also generate additional sales,” commented China Duty Free Group (CDFG) President Charles Chen.

CDFG customers who face time or luggage restraints can download the mobile app and choose to pay at the store using cash, credit card, AliPay or WeChat for a ‘hassle free’ experience.

For extra convenience, checkout can be fulfilled through store staff using POS hand-held devices.

Items are available for order and pickup 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with CDFG mirroring promotions at six of its bricks and mortar stores online through the app, with platform-exclusive promotions in the pipeline.

“Our solution connects multiple systems that work together to create a seamless shopping journey for travellers,” commented Bernard Grellier, General Manager, Retail Solutions at Diebold Nixdorf.
